Question about classifieds

Is there possibly a rule that non-paying members cannot participate in the classifieds? If so; I understand and will no longer attempt to ask questions about or purchase items there. I understand that we cannot sell there but thought we are allowed to purchase.

I ask because I used visitor messaging to ask questions about a recent listing ( and saw that someone had also used it to attempt to purchase and there has been no response after a week)

Can't sell, but you are able to buy. Maybe the seller flaked??

That is most likely just the seller not seeing visitor message or choosing not to respond for whatever reason. Probably the former. Many don't check visitor messages. I don't think there's a notification for a new visitor message like a Private Message (PM).

Visitor messages will show as a notification.

No problems for regular members to purchase in the classifieds. Be aware some folks are gun shy if someone comes into their thread with no other posts in the forum and says I'll take it.

You might want to try Email
but yes you can buy and post want ads, just can't place sales ads or respond to want ads with a sale.
There are some that will only sell to paid and established members-that is a personal choice not a rule

I'll just assume the seller either did not see the visitor message or has a personal preference about non-paying members, as is his right, to not respond.

Either way, it s good and I have no problem with it. As far as I am concerned; I have my answer and this thread can die a peaceful death.

By the way, I do have a (small - 362) number of posts, mostly in the traditional section. And, I would have e-mailed the seller but it was not one of the options he lists.

Try posting in his thread that you're interested, and left a visitor's message.
