Well I would try just wrapping it, strait wind with double or even three layers of paracord just to see if it feels okay. You could fine tune it a bit, for example having two layers of full paracord wrap and then a 3rd layer of stripped paracord (removing the 7 filaments). This makes the 3rd layer flatter.
I don't do anything fancy with my wraps. I just wind them straight. I would attack this by first crazy glueing about 0.5" of the paracord to the tang. I would do this by glueing the paracord end piece in the middle of the tang and running parallel to the handle. The glue contact point would be between the end (away from the blade) and first hole. After it sets, pull the cord straight, running along the centre of the tang to the other edge of the handle (next to the blade). You could take advantage of that first hole for the wrap, but I wouldn't, I would try to get the cord as close to the end of the handle surface as I could. Keep the cord taunt and with a dab of crazy glue, glue the paracord right at the spot where you want the handle (at the blade end) to begin. Let it set. Now just bend the cord 90 degrees and start wrapping in as a single layer towards the back of the handle. When you get to the end of the handle you can choose to set that last piece of cord with a quick dab of crazy glue. Start winding the 2nd layer back towards the blade. Again, if you choose to set the paracord with a dab of glue at the very end you can do so. If needed go through a third layer, set it with crazy glue, cut and seal the end with a flame.
I did a buck diamondback that had a bit of a thinner tang (not stick, but thinner then the blade) and used a double black paracord wrap. It feels awesome. I'll post pics later when I get on my other computer.
