Question about deramping...

Hmmm. I suppose I need to give it a shot too now. I don't have a shop of a vice though. I suppose I could clamp it down and take the ramp down just a touch proud of the spine and finish with a hand file to make it nice and flat. While I'm at it I might as well round off the peak where the spine goes into the swedge and then grind off the little nub at the front of the handle. Doing all that means I should strip it but first I'll need to etch the logo...

I sense lots of good mods in the future. Crap, you got me thinking about deramping the 10 or 9, now. It's actually never bothered me, but I like the more utilitarian look of the blade without it....

Yeah, I was thinking about doing my 9 first since it's already stripped but I'm not sure how it will affect the retention of my AZWelke sheath. I guess the 10 will be the guinea pig for this experiment. Or maybe I should buy a 7 just to mod...

The possible sheath issue is something that had stopped my from just taking a grinder to it. For some reason, the 10 looks like a fish to me with the thumb ramp.

Random question- will the swedge strike a ferro rod if the coating is stripped?

Hey Bert. I wasn't trying to troll on you or come off as a jerk, sorry if it seemed that way. Welcome to the forum and hope all goes well with your deramping.
