Question about for sale listings

I've been wondering why the asking/selling price for knives posted in the Knife Exchange is deleted once the item is sold. I am a member of numerous other sites with Guns for sale forums. Having the price remain in the posting after sale is very helpful for both buyers and sellers in that it allows one to view what other similar items have sold for and therefore what a seller can reasonably expect to ask for their knife as well as what a buyer can expect to pay for one if they are hunting for a specific item. On these other sites the items are simply marked as sold but the original price is left in the post for reference.

I'm asking because I often wonder what the typical asking price is for certain knives I am interested in. Unless there are unsold examples currently on the Exchange forums, it's not possible to get a good working price range I can expect to pay for a knife on the used market here.
