I was curious if anyone here has ordered any of the water bottles directly from Guyot and if so how long it actually took to get it.

I ordered a 38oz standard directly from Guyot on June 17 this year. I got the shipping notification e-mail on July 24, so it was just over a month for me. They didn't charge my CC until they shipped the bottle.

Wow, that is a long time. Good to hear though.

Thanks

Med Ops,

I don't think that Maine's experience is a result of the bottle simply not being available ANYWHERE during that time period, not Guyot's customer service. Now that there are bottles to be had, from Guyot or their distribution network, wait times should be much shorter.

Oh, I see what you mean.

Do you know if there is any difference in the Guyot vs. the Nalgene Guyot offered by Twowolves? I just picked up the 10X4 holder and am looking at getting the GSI gup as well.

BTW, what part of Western WA are you in? I live in Lacey atm.

I think the only difference in the two is that one says "Nalgene" on it.;) Guyot and Nalgene entered into an agreement where Nalgene would sell the Guyot bottle. This gets much wider exposure for Guyot and it helps Nalgene deal with the devastation over the health concerns of their polycarbonate bottles.

I'm in the Kent/Des Moines area.

Flix, I certainly would agree. I should have mentioned that. I didn't mean to imply any negatives on Guyot. It was definitely a universal availability problem during that timeframe (possibly they were ramping up for the Nalgene distribution deal?). I was unable to find availability anywhere, but I figured I should get my order in and thought my best option at the time was directly from Guyot.

I noticed on the Twowolves site that the Nalgene Guyots would be available after 1 Nov.

Kent/Des Moines, we're practically neighbors.

Pretty smart thinking.

Have you used it much yet?

The only reason that I haven't ordered a guyot bottle is that I haven't been able to locate any in stock anywhere. I like their largemouth design better than the kleen kanteen's narrow mouth.

Have some in stock to take to an event.
Can spare a few for special folks. May be able to get more before the end of the month if folks are in need.
Email me if you like.

The bottle was well worth the wait for me. I use it daily as my water bottle at work. I've also used it on the one canoe trip I've been able to get out on this season. I haven't yet boiled water in it, but I know it has that capability if I need it. I drilled 1/16" holes in the flange for a stainless steel leader "bale" as shown in this thread by Flix.

do the stainless guyots dent easily? I've been wanting to get one for belt carry while hiking and have been wondering about that.
