Question about knife in luggage@airport

I remember that news story, A.T. But was it TSA personnel - or baggage handlers further "down the line"? I only speak from personal experience, but I have NEVER had a problem with the TSA people per se - whether it's theft, attitude, etc. In the places where they open the luggage in view of the owner, I have always been allowed to stand a few steps away from them and watch as they open, search, and then seal my suitcase.

At the Lexington airport, they inspect the luggage behind closed doors. We are not allowed to view this operation.
