Question about leather

I want to try an make a few leather strops and was wondering where do you guys get your leather from? I'm looking for 1/4" x 2" x 16" or something like that. Thanks for any help!
 
For a strop, try going to your local thrift store and buy an old leather belt. Cut off about 14 inches and glue the smooth side to a board with a handle cut in the end. Load the sucker up with green chrome buffing compound and you are set to go.
