Is there a hidden steel liner on a Military? I heard that the BG42 CF model had this particularity... Is it true?

Thanks

I do not believe there are steel liner(s) in the Military. Wait for other Spyderfans to chime in.

My CF BG42 has steel liners imbedded in the carbon fiber which taper down to the back end of the spacer and are secured with the spacer screws

Since it's inception, the Military has always had a single nested liner. Beginning with the carbon fiber BG-42 Sprint Run in the latter half of 2006 a second liner was added, and at that time all subsequent production Military models were redesigned to include dual liners. I think that's right. Corroboration anyone ?

Pretty much right on Gramps, the non-lock side liner is skeletonized for weight reduction. I think that is when they went to phosphor bronze washers at the pivot as well.

Another vote for what Gramps said. Will just add that the new "off-side" nested liner is not full size, it's just a relatively small plate in the pivot area. As for the washers, not sure if the change from plastic to phosphor bronze was simultaneous with the addition of the second liner or not. Seems to me that happened further back, but know it was done gradually to a number of models and there was no specific "news flash" when a given one made the switch.
