Stacy, I noticed on a recent thread you recommended the pin holes in the tang be a little larger than the actual pin size. For example, if the pin is 1/4", I think you recommended a 5/16" hole. Is there a particular reason for the larger hole? I drill my holes 1/8" and use 1/8" brass rod (the pin stock I have is actually slightly oversize and I have to turn it down with my cordless drill and sandpaper), because I thought you wanted the pins to fit snug. Having the larger hole will certainly make the final fitting/epoxying of the scales a whole lot easier. I guess if you apply epoxy liberally in that pin hole, the epoxy will fill it and be able to take lateral forces as well as the pin would in a tight hole?
