Question About Pinned Pivot On A Friction Folder

I am working on Shaping A blank for a small friction folder with a 1/4 inch pivot. I would like to do a pinned pivot from brass but my question is whether or not I will have to peen the pin. If so what is the easiest way to do this or is it the same as peening any other pin on the handle. Thanks in advance and I apologize for being the guy who ask all kinds of stupid questions without having any real work to show for it.

what I did when I make friction folders is like any other pin but whatever happens it has to bee straight and check it after every hit to make sure that it is not to tight or it wont open well or at all.

I put a thin shim, 0.005 on each side of the pin. the shim has a V cut to go around the pin and then peen. Check the shim so it is not too tight to remove. Once the pin is removed a couple more taps are needed to remove any remaining play. You don't really need the shim as long as you are careful and don't over tighten. You can get thin shim material at most hobby stores.

Thank You for the help. If I use a shim I believe I have a feeler gauge that thin.
