Question about plastic (or synthetics)

Thanks for the pic of the Buck 486. I might get the Orange one. That's a good looking folder.

Modern synthetics (FRN) or composites (G10, carbon fiber) on a traditional knife can sometimes seem like spinner wheels on a Model T Ford, or a purple mohawk on a 90 year old man. Sometimes it just don't look right.

I've got one of the clip/studless Boone and Crockett 486s, and it has overtaken my 110. It's oh so comfortable for me, and it is much lighter weight.

Thanks!
I have to get one. I wonder if I'll prefer the Case Mako or the buck 486?

I do recall now that Strider knives stated how hard G10 is to work. REALLY hard!
Do we have a pic of the Buck 486? :)

A someone who's worked with G10 I can tell you that that is true.

The stuff is such a big pain in the butt that I refuse to work with it ever again unless someone is willing to pay a serious premium.

The fibers get everywhere, they itch, and are dangerous to your respiratory system.

This is true for both G10 and carbon fibre.
