question about posting images - why are my always thumbnail size when I insert inline

Hello everyone,
I have a question.

When I upload images and insert them into posts, the image is inserted as a thumbnail. I am uploading images that are about 600x800, but the thing that shows until you click to get full-sized is smaller.

I notice everyone else knows how to insert the larger version of each pic right into text. What am I doing wrong? Is there some trick so that the attachment placed in the post will be the full sized and not some smaller version (there must be)?

There are different codes for thumbnails vs. full-sized (aka hotlinked). Depending on which image host you are uploading to, they may not support hotlinking. Here's an example of which code to copy and paste...
