Question about sawback knives

The 184 was a issue Seal knife, atleast to some teams. The Phrobis CUK was issued around the same time. Issue Seal knives post WWII- mid 90's go something like Ka-Bar, Ontario Mk 3(based somewhat on the AK series of bayonets), Buck, Phrobis, Mad Dog ATAK, SOG, Mission. Plus there were various custom makers that gained favor with some Teams.

The Points were to anchor things down originally, some ad copy later touted as a grappling hook.

I'll have to look later, currently on my phone and running slow. You can link it if you'd like.

t1mpany - yours is an excellent post! Thank you a lot!
I am glad that somebody with US Army knowledge confirms what I know from my personal experience elsewhere - military do not care about knives in general and do not know much about them. Only some individuals who have personal interest - but those are few and far between. They do not represent any noticeable percentage of the total population.

Or guns, for that matter. Many new recruits have never fired a weapon before, and become proficient only with the weapon they're trained on. Of course, the gun enthusiast market is far larger than the knife enthusiast market (in the US anyway) so it's more common for the rank and file to have at least some knowledge/ interst in firearms. Of course, from an instructor's perspective, that's just more bad habits you have to train away, but that complaint is another topic. :)

Well Spoken! The cool thread of reasoning and common sense will win out every time! Although, I sometimes have my doubts about the society we live in today. But it will all come out in the wash! Great post further up in the thread!
