Hello all, I'm a newbie to the forums, so just wanted to say hello. Last summer, for some reason, the "knife bug" hit me and I've been buying ever since. I buy mostly for EDC/daily use, but sometimes by for a "keepsake". Anyways, I have a question I'm hoping you guys can help me with.

Recently I purchased 2 Spyderco Delica 4 knives in the limited edition flat grind with colored handles (Green and Gray). Here's where I need help...

On the gray Delica that I have, on the blade is a mark beside the Spyder and it says "135V" on it. On my green Delica, it doesn't have that on the blade.

What is the 135V? Why would one knife have it and the other not?

Thanks and I look forward to learning more while I'm here.

Jon

I believe the "135V" just means that it was one of the original pieces to be made. If I recall, Deacon has said that it usually indicates a piece for the collector's club and doesn't add a lot of value to the knife. If I'm wrong I'm sure he'll chime in. :p

Ah, thanks.

So does that mean the 135V was part of the initial limited run and now the other blade is part of just the normal production?

I had heard that Spyderco was only going to make 9k of the knives to see how well they sold, then if it went well, they'd go into normal production later this year, but the colors wouldn't be a part of it. But then again, ya know how internet rumors are!

The number means it was reserved for a collector, in this case collector 135. The V indicates it is a variation of the model.
