Question about spyderco logo on techno and southard?

So I bought the techno and a week later bought the southard. I got them from the spyderco website, and the emblems on both seem weird to me. At first I thought they were dirty, but if you look at the pictures it just looks off..both from Taichung so I'm not sure if that's it and they do it differently there..any thoughts?

I'm pretty sure that's normal bud, Taiwan, Japan, China and the US all have different laser etching of the Spyder. Looks good to me!
 
I had a Techno once upon a time, and the logo was a little strange, Kinda like yours....

It felt like it was raised and gritty.

Guess that's normal.

To add to the others, my Southard logo looks very similar to the OP. It's not the same smooth even black as my PM2.

Looks like every taiwan spyderco I own. Different emblem etching from different spyderco factories.
