question about Steel!

No, never seen, I just skimmed through it, pardon, project deadlines are very pressing at work :) Seems like there's 6 modules and based on the names I have no clue which one would be related to carbide formation calculations.
If you can give me some hints, I'll be very happy to attempt making the similar calc.

Bookmarked both. I still have to finish steel chart 3.0.
And work on next version of steel chart android app.
I guess somewhere in between I'll read up on all that. If you don't mind, I'll could certainly use your help though :)

I have 2 knives made of it and like them fine. Not outstanding by any means, but very similar to 420 HC according to this chart: http://www.agrussell.com/Steel_Guide/a/73/ , and if heat treated properly should reach the same hardness rating.

BTW, the first number in the steel name (5Cr15MoV), 5, is the carbon content; the number after Cr, 15, is the chromium content; so it is, in fact, a stainless variant.
