So I've been stripping all of my knives for a few years now with perfect results....My question is, how do I go about stripping the blade but not the handle tang?

I've yet to do this and I was trying to think of a good way, I use Jasco btw. I want to strip the blade but leave the coating on under the handles on this next project.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks guys!

Suspend the blade in the stripper from a string. Maybe paint over the handle with something that won't strip and sand it off after.

Best of luck brother.

I was thinking about painting the tang but suspending it sounds like a great idea also!

thanks for the suggestion.

I use blue painters tape on my Beckers. It will seep under a bit. I will often cover less than 1/16" with tape over what I want to strip and let that area be the sacrificial lamb. I sometimes have to touch it up with sandpaper, but my resulta have been acceptable to my knife ocd.

Like said above, though, it can seep under a little and leave you with a less than perfect line needing a touch up. If you care about things like that

Just put a rod through the lanyard hole, find a suitable height glass jar and suspend the knife into the stripper for a good clean line. When you pull it out dry the excess right away.
