Question about the Military boot knife

Hi all,

I am looking at the Military boot knife and was wondering what the scales were made of. The Kershaw website says that they are POM.
What is POM? I searched the site and cannot find any more about this material.

A web search revealed that it is a new and improved mix of co-polymers. Loosely translated - tough plastic. :)
 
Thanks for the reply. I figured it was something like that, was wondering what the acronym was.
