i was just curious about this. is there a way to remove the wood scales from a #110 folding hunter? i was interested in trying my hand at handle work and thought it would be neat to try to replace the wood handles with something else mabey another type of wood or carbon fiber who knows. i am no expert but it seems like the pins are permenent do the solder the pins into place or what? is there a tool to get the pins out of the frame? any help greatly appreciated

Stubellos,

I can tell you how to remove the inlays but i need to first let you know that it would void the warrantee.
If you sand off the heads of the small inlay rivets, they will fall out on the inside of the case. Then it gets tricky. You have to sand off the head of the rocker rivet also and tap it out. Whatever you use for your new inlays, you can get away with just a good adhesive and not use inlay rivets.
The rocker rivet, however, can not be forgotten. YOu either have to shorten it and make it a "hidden" rivet. Or, find a new rivet and roll a new head on the end.
I am sure there are other little tricks you can use. You might want to ask around as i know other forumites have done custom work on 110's.
