Does anyone know if this knife is made in a different location than the other knives produced in Seki City? I have always had above average experiences with my Spyderco products, but I've been through two of these now and the action with this knife seems very different from every other I've owned. The laser etching is different than other Spydies I own or have seen and I'm really surprised at the almost "gritty" feel when I open this knife. My favorite EDC's right now are my PE Native with the FRN handle, Delica PE in SS and my Caly 3. I was looking forward to getting the Native with SS handles into the rotation, but I'm not sure now. My mini-manix is on the way though!! Any insight would be great.

Spyderco uses a number of makers in Seki City, IIRC a half dozen or more. I'm sure each one produces more than one model, but for the most part the information on who makes what is not published.

i agree with realstagman, the etching is definately different, and the action is not quite up to par with spyderco's other knives.
