Currently, the title under my user name is "dealer" Can I change that? I seem to think I can. I just go to the page that I went to when I wanted to change my user name. Is that correct?

I don't mean to imply that it has to be a hyper link, but that would be cool. I was just thinking of putting in the "www." form. If it was just "Alaska Gun" that would be fine with me.

Try it! All changes are retroactive; if you don't like it change it again a minute later and no one will even notice unless they happened to load one of your posts during that minute.

I don't think it will work as a hyperlink, but it makes sense to me to use it anyway. People will remember it, and they can type it in themselves.

As a dealer you need to get some knives for sale over in the for sale forums. If you are going to put out that kind of money you should use this forum to your best advantage. You can't advertise in the regular forums, but you should use the for sale forums. You should also try to get involved in as many threads on the regular forums as you can. When you feel you have valuable information, or just an educated opinion, jump on in. If I hadn't seen this thread I wouldn't have known you were one of our member dealers.

Keep in mind that we allow a link in your signature line.

I find that if a dealer has a link in his signature line and if he participates in the forum and earns a good rep as a knowledgable knife enthusiast then that link in the signature line is all you'll need.

This I'm aware of. It would seem that I'm a little slow in starting off here but that's all changing. I've lurked for a loooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggg time and am finally becoming comfortable posting, navigating the different subforums and what not. I'll start putting up knives for sale in the dealer sub forum of the exchange within a couple weeks. After BLADE, and my employee taking off for two weeks just after I got back, I've been put a ways off in my summer math class. It'll be over soon and I'll be on track. Thanks for the replies, and, oh yeah: any reason why my title hasn't changed yet?

Go to your User Control Panel, Edit Profile, type something in where it says Custom User Title, then go to the bottom of the page and click the Save Changes button. The change is immediate and retroactive.

Thanks. I was thinking that it was going to be like the user name change, that someone else was going to do it. I appreciate the advise and I'm hoping soon to do some business on Blade Forums.

Let's go through it step by step. When you go to your User Control Panel the left-hand column should look like this:

Click on Edit Profile and you should see something similar to this:

If you still can't find it, I guess your account must be screwed up and Spark will have to fix it.

Yeup, not there. I guess I'll have to send a request to Spark, then? What's the best way to do that? And Cougar Allen, thanks for all the help.

Bill

I'm sure he's been following this thread. Now I've run out of ideas he'll take over. It wouldn't hurt to send him a PM though.

I was thinking the same thing. It would be nice of him to respond or send me a message or something. Of course, I understand that my little problem isn't of crisis proportions and thus not bound to be very high on his "to do" list.

It's division of labor. Helping people figure out how to use the software is my role. It's only now we've established that there really seems to be a problem with the software this time that Spark needs to get involved.
