Question about using a Coote grinder

I got my Coote grinder up and running yesterday. I ground a blade this afternoon and fitted a guard to it. I have one major problem. How do you grind the ricasso? I know that the blade should run up and down, not cross ways. I just can't figure out how to hold the blade in that position. Any help would be appreciated.

No photos tonight. Gonna have to go to bed shortly. Doing a hidden tang blade. I want to flatten the ricasso. How do you hold a blade flat against the platten? I want to hold the blade with the tip of the blade straight down and the tang straight up. I could sand it by hand, but i figure the grinder could do it for me. Wore the fingers out of my glove trying to hold the side of the blade against the platten <grin>.

Thanks

Yep, the magnet will do it.

You just found the main drawback (in my mind) to 2 wheel grinders.
I found it the first day I had my Coote as well.

Still love the Coote though.
