I have used Permatex locktite in the past and for most thing I don't mind using it but I have small little 3mm set screw I want to apply a thread locker to and I have heard great things about Vibratite and that it doesn't dry to basically a hard plastic and more like a rubber or silcone like coating moreless.

I know they have different strengths and what I was wondering do you think I should use the Purple or the Blue stuff, the reason I ask is because I know with the Permatex stuff the plasitc stuff it dries to get harder and harder going from blue to red.

I was just wondering if Vibratite is the same if I were to use the red or the blue instead will it be hard on the trheads if I need to remove it.

"Vibra-Tite VC threadlockers are soft locking materials which are applied to a fastener and then air dried."

I have only used the red. While it says to apply and air dry before assembly I have applied it then assembled before it dries and it works fine. Either way it will not hold screws too hard for easy removal. It will not last as long in the bottle as anaerobic thread lockers and it will glue the cap on quite well.

I have the vibra-tite blue gel thread locker that I use for my knife scale, pivot, and pocket clip screws. I only use a tiny bit and have never had one come loose and they are easy enough to remove.

The onething I like about it is that you apply it to screws and then store them with it on them as well so it will be ready for use when needed,I have also heard people say that with the red stuff at least that you can reuse the same screw 7 to 8 times and not have to re-apply it.

I use the red. No complaints. I like it because it doesn’t seep were I don’t want it, and you can adjust the screw multiple times, even leaving it “loose” without it backing out any more.

Often times parts kits will come with screws already coated with red vibra tite. It’s good stuff
