Question about which neck knife to buy..

The paracord is much more pleasant on the skin than the ballchain, BUT it is NOT recommended for neck carry in the woods, on a worksite, while running, biking, etc... you get the point : paracord is stronger than your neck. I find neck carry only useful while at home, essentially, so yes, my neckers hang on paracord. When outdoors, I usually prefer belt, pocket or backpack carry (I will also take the bigger blades...). It is also possible that the knitted envelope of the paracord is still strong enough to strangle you, despite the ballchain breaking... Make an indoor safety test before.

Strap the sheath to your belt using the paracord (cross-draw at about 10 o'clock if you're a rightie), leave your shirt untucked to conceal it from the sheeple (if needed and if legal in your area), and be done with it. The Izzie makes a nice belt-carry knife. Much more accessible than fumbling around under your shirt and pulling the sheath out.

I have another question. How can I wrap the handle like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3472rPavR50&list=PLE535BB91D4BE0D00 this and not have to tie a knot at the end of the handle? I hate the looks of having a big knot or lanyard on the end of it (No offense to anyone who has theirs that way, it just isn't my thing)

Sorry for so many questions.. I've always carried knives but never consistently, it's always whatever I pick up from my room, but I want to make this one my real EDC knife.

EDIT: I found these breakaway snaps for a paracord necklace, it takes about 20 pounds of force to break them off, so that solves my necklace problem. http://www.bladehq.com/item--Knot-Boys-Barrel-Buckles-38-Black--14393

Fire Ant Red Izula has been ordered, along with a considerable amount of other goodies to use for other paracord projects.

Good luck with the Izula. I have found that I basically don't carry a fixed blade on a regular basis (neck, belt, boot or whatever), except when I am in the woods, but the concept is cool. I have one of the Condor neck knives. It is very hard to sharpen; I believe the heat treat is off. I have the BK-14 and BK-24 as possible neckers if I choose to carry one either in my back pocket or around the neck. Considering getting the Blackjack neck knife.... just to try out. My guess I will pretty much re-discover what I already know.

I have a small Dozier Personal fixed blade with his horizontal sheath and it is the closest thing to an EDC fixed blade I own. You don't even know it's there, nor does anyone else.

Thanks for the input. Does anyone have a way to do the paracord wrap without having a lanyard or knot on the end?

Ver Steeg Imp!! Best neck knife ever. Perfectly sized and scary sharp. A true custom knife for the price of an Izula II with scales.
