Question concerning Demko

Hello all,

Does anyone know if Andrew Demko is still taking orders? I tried emailing him/ his staff a few days ago but did not hear back. Any help is appreciated.
 
Last I heard he had quite a wait time. Your email may have gone to a spam folder?
 
I don't mind the wait if the order is in, I just can't get through at all...
 
Last I heard was that he had a waiting list for the official waiting list.
Good luck! (I have given up hope.)
 
really... darn, that sounds pretty bad. I may go down another road... I really wanted an ad-10.
 
My AD-10 is due any time and I can't get a response emailing him. I tried on 6-26, no answer. I emailed him again on Friday and nothing yet. I hope he is OK....
 
He's busy making knives! :D
Don't bomb him with emails that makes it harder for him to get through them.
 
Difficulty in getting in touch with a maker could be a pretty good indicator that it's not a good idea to place an order with him/her.
 
I ordered a knife with him well over a year ago. Knife was expected months ago. No communication despite many months of trying. I don't mind as long as I get something eventually. But not holding out much hope.
 
Thanks guys--I'll just sit back in a holding pattern for now--what else could I do. I agree though, it's likely not the best move to place an order now.

I have a knife on order with Andrew as well. I have been waiting about a year, and have contacted him 4 or 5 times in that timeframe with questions or changes to my order. I last spoke with him in July and he has always been very prompt and helpful. I was quoted 12-14 months but I'm guessing he is very busy and it may take longer. I don't mind though as he is likely flooded with emails daily and it is easy to get a little behind as a small operation.
 
One thing is for sure, when I do get the knife, I will think twice before selling it. Seems they are becoming harder to get your hands on.
 
Oh well, I just ordered another recon 1 to make myself feel better... I'm gonna beat the hell out of that knife :)

I've been making my way through the Cold Steel lineup while I wait too lol. Hope I can bring myself to use my AD10 when it arrives. I may just keep destroying my CS American Lawman...

I totally understand! I was thinking of asking if I could have a clip point made for the AD-10 rather than the drop point--but now that I think about it, the production time would likely double...
 
I emailed him about something special-I guess it's the wrong time to trouble him now. Anyway buddy Cotherion is about to get his special folder from him soon and that was 2 years wait before the waiting list for official waiting list started.
 
wow... just wow... that is a little beyond what I was prepared to wait. I'd love to see pics of that special folder.
