Question for 319 Proper owners

"I wear condoms."
"This may be the lamest thing I've ever heard. A ......." ;)

Plenty of people keep their pocket knives in slips; so what? There are plenty of reasons for this. Loose change lodging between blade and scale. Obnoxious sideways orientation of handle in bottom of pocket imprinting or being uncomfortable. Noise of clinking metal all day. Dirt from job site accumulating in bottom of pockets throughout the day and getting in joints. -Or it could be as simple as changing the finish of a knife from how one likes to keep his knife.

For the record, I have no opinion to share with you gentlemen about what pocket knife carry method makes you comfortable. It is my opinion, however, that there should be more pics of the Proper in this thread!
Relax friend. I was calling Benchmade's response about the knives not being durable lame.

I carry mine in my pocket with my money clip, keys and whatever else is in that pocket. So far I don't have any marks at all on the knife. I have the Red handle and I think it is getting a little darker from using it. I'm very happy with the knife as it came out of the box.

Sorry to dredge up an older thread, but now that some of you have carried your Proper for a while down in the pocket with keys and change and such, how are they holding up (I’m especially interested in the Micarta model)? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

EagleIH,

While I may not have a Benchmade Proper, I have carried micarta-handled knives 'loose' lots of times. Most often an Ontario RAT3, which has spent lots of miles rattling around in a backpack pocket with other tools during long back-country mountain bike rides. The micarta holds up just fine to this (ab)use. It weathers - like jeans or boots or truck bumpers, but won't soon wear out or even be damaged by such use.

VolGrad & Jazub: I appreciate the banter! While I may personally fall towards the "yeah, whatever" side of the spectrum, I can see the "keep it fresh" approach as valid, too (I'd rather buy second-hand from that field!). Thanks, fellers.
