If i really wanted a knife ie the Milliray from spyderco it is 150 there and online there abut 115

In my experience, a reputable online dealer will have my order at my doorstep within 3 or 4 days of placing my purchase. Brick and mortar stores are going to charge a higher price for products to compensate for overhead expenses. If you want it cheaper, you'll have to look online.

I agree with you 100% but if i find a knife around $20-$25 more in stores ill get them, like i did with my SOG flash II

Makes sense. There is something satisfying about walking out of a store with a new knife. :) Unfortunately, all of the knife stores in my area are charging full MSRP for almost all of their knives, so there will be no walking out of a store with knives for me. Good luck on your quest for a cheap knife store.

Rent is high at Tysons Corner. Just go and get yourself a coffee at Starbucks and sit outside and watch the women buy sex toys at Night Dreams next door.

:D

Knifecenter is about 6 miles north of D.C. although you have to pay sales tax, and you should order ahead of time.

Two words for anyone ordering on line for knives, New Graham Knives, ok 3 words. The most reputable dealer I have ever dealt with bar none. keepem sharp

I think you also have to call Knifecenter ahead of time, and set up an appointment. That's what I remember reading on their website at one time at least.

New Graham is a 6 to 8 hour drive for you so I don't suggest it, but if you are going to buy online Mike is the man. I am in the Roanoke area and our knife shops have closed up an turned into restaurants so I feel your pain. BUT local gun store should have the ability to order a lot of the stuff you want from their distributors. Check with Bernie at VA Arms IIRC he has some knives in stock as well. If you find their distributors sites you can see ahead of time what they can get and some can even call and special order some stuff through their distributors.

Don't forget gun shows as well. It may cost a few bucks to get in but you can find some deals. I picked up a lightly used Benchmade Griptillian woth Wilkins Grips for under $90. Someone just thought it was a special edition. Best of luck.

If you're up for a real experience, pedal on down to SW VA for a long daytrip or overnighter and over to New Graham in Bluefield. Mike's showroom is second only to Smokey Mtn. Knife Works in TN so far as I've seen, but Mike carries primarily only premium brands.

The prices are great, and Mike and his staff are great people to talk with.

I took my 9-yr-old Son a few months ago. He still talks about it! It's that cool. Check out some of his showroom pics online if you get a chance.

Professor.

You're a 40 minute drive from a small but good knife store. Go to Edgeworks, in Frederick Maryland. It's right on North Market street, the main drag in the old part of town.

That's funny, I just moved right next to Tyson's corner. I always like to buy a knife to commemorate a move or big life change, and since it's a sentimental thing I don't like to do it over the internet. The only place in the area I could find was Blue Ridge Arsenal.

Friendly and helpful, but I don't know if they carry Spyderco. Decent selection of Benchmades though.

And if you can wait, The Nation's Gunshow comes through in about a week. If you haven't been it's huge, not a ton of knives but you will be able to find a pretty good deal on a Delica if you're willing to walk through a mile of gun tables to find it.

I've yet to find any local stores that carry Spydies in northern VA. There used to be a blade shop in Dulles Towncenter but it fell victim to economic hardship. That place had things other than BMs and SOGs but I wasn't interested in knives back then.

Just google mapped it. It's about 70 miles from Arlington, VA and closer to 1.5 hours with good traffic. Still the best place I've been able to locate nearby.
