Question for knife people in VA

New Graham is a 6 to 8 hour drive for you so I don't suggest it, but if you are going to buy online Mike is the man. I am in the Roanoke area and our knife shops have closed up an turned into restaurants so I feel your pain. BUT local gun store should have the ability to order a lot of the stuff you want from their distributors. Check with Bernie at VA Arms IIRC he has some knives in stock as well. If you find their distributors sites you can see ahead of time what they can get and some can even call and special order some stuff through their distributors.

+1 on both! New Graham is a great place online; and Virginia Arms in Manassas is a wonderful brick and mortar place. Bernie's a great guy!

Fredericksburg Hardware had one of the largest visual Case knife collections on the wall that you will probably see in open air in one shop. The knife selection was vast in the knife cases, and they always had lots to choose from-many brands. It has been several years since I lived there, but surley worth a short drive... downtown/ oldtown Fredericksburg, Va.

Casual Adventure in Arlington has a decent selection of Spyderco and BM. Full retail but a very helpful staff. Good selection of Surefire lights too. It is on Washington Street.

I go to Edgeworks a lot. They have the best selection of any walk-in retail store in the DC area IMO. They carry every major brand I can think of except for Strider. The also have a large glass case of WH's and CRK's. I try to buy at least a few knives from them per year. I like to think that I'm doing my part to keep them in business.

It was great when the Chesapeake knife and tool stores were still around 4-5 years ago. There was one in every mall in the area. That was definitely the golden age of knife shopping in NOVA.

BlueRidge Arsenal (at the intersection of rt50 and rt28) has a small but decent selection of Benchmades and SOG's

Loudoun Guns Inc in Leesburg has a case of Lone Wolf's kershaws and HK's. I even saw a couple Sebbies there once.

There's also some kind of "Tactical gear" shop in downtown leesburg that I haven't been to yet.

Hope this helps.

Dick's Sporting Goods (many NoVA locations) usually has some Bucks and some SOGs, but mainly the lower-end Gerbers. Don't expect great prices or service, but...
