Anybody else have any problems getting their new subscriptions from the Blade Show?
Here's my story:
I paid $29 cash for a 2-year subscription to Knives Illustrated at the Blade Show. I got it from an older gentleman with glasses, medium height, grayish hair (trying my best to recollect).
Anyway, when I signed up I knew I would be moving soon (but didn't know what my new address would be). I explained this to him and he said to just put in my current address and then change it later.
So, he puts 2 magazines in a bag for me (part of the signup deal), hands me a receipt (which I have somehow misplaced), and I head on my way.
I moved at the end of June. About three weeks ago, I sent an email to Knives Illustrated via their website explaining the situation. I included both my old address and new address.
A week or two after that I get a form letter in the mail saying there was no such address on their records, and if I want my subscription, I need to show them my receipt.
Well, anybody that's been to Blade knows what a whirlwind it is....and worse than that....I started packing after the show. I have looked high and low for that receipt - in every possible place I know and can't find it.
So what should I do?
I know it's my fault that I lost the receipt - and believe me, it's causing me pain - but it's their fault they don't have my address. They took the sale and should have kept better records....it's not my responsibility to "remind" them of my subscription. They have my money and I have nothing....
I asked if I could speak with the person who sold me the subscription - but have not yet received a response back (it's been two weeks).
I can't just "let it go".....$29 could have gone toward more supplies.....
Help?

Mod note: The matter is not yet resolved, so that's why this is not yet posted in GB&U.
