Specifically for anyone using it via stock removal methods.
Are you guys annealing it or normalizing it, or using it as is?

I can't find anyone close by that can anneal it. I figured I could probably at least normalize it myself, but figured I'd check and see if it was even worth the time first.

Thanks,
Wade

Wade,
Been doing some stock removal with it and it is softer than the 1095 I got from Jantz and I have been using a 4x36 and a 1x30" sander and some files.
Hope this helps.

Wade,
If you can get it to temp to normalize it you can anneal it.
Bring the steel up slowly to critical temp and then put it in some warmed up lyme, vermiculite, or wood ash over night. Should make it good and soft.

I ground some and it was as easy as A2. It ate two drill bits though..
