Oregon has never been a real seat of wealth. Oh, sure, we've got (and have had) our timber barons, etc, but the state is mostly rural and agricultural. I wouldn't be surprised to find that Schrade, Imperial, Camillus, etc, were the knives of choice of the working man back in the day. Nowadays, it's whoever carries whatever. Remember that CRKT, Gerber, and a few others are based here (not that that means a lot in today's global economy...).
