I would like to see Taiwanese style CF on Golden knives and do not care at this time if this is solid or laminate. Also I really like CF on Dodo. For my perception it is the best CF, which I saw on Golden and Japanese knives. I do not like smooth or polished CF on my Caly, UKPK, N4, Kopa (but I love the knives) and so on. Cannot wait for CF N5, hopefully it will be the same CF like Dodo, Taiwanese style will be fine.
You learned wrong. The Sage I and Gayle Bradley use what some call basket weave CF. The surface is "textured", rather than flat, but it's most definitely not peel- ply, more like a series of small "pillows", like a miniature version of a quilted down jacket as opposed to peel-ply CF and G-10, which look like someone glued a piece of window screen on top of them. IMHO, the stuff on the Sage, Bradley, Chaparral, and some other models from Taiwan looks as good as smooth CF.I personally can't stand that peel-ply carbon fiber. I think it's hideous, and I love carbon fiber on knives. I was going to buy the Sage 1 and the Gayle Bradley, but I learned that they were both peel-ply. I love the designs, but I can't stand grippy carbon fiber. It feels so cheap.
It's either my lighting, my monitor settings, or yours, D. Handles all look black and the blades various shades of grey on my 25" HP, but I know from my working days that I tend to run my brightness, contrast, and color temp settings lower than most folks.Paul are those knives really blue or is the lighting funky making the black look blue?
