I've never had a strong interest in balisongs - sure, I had one or two when I was in my teens, but that experience didn't leave me with the knowledge to answer this:
How much "slop" should there be? Will a new, quality balisong be fairly (something), with slop developing with use? Or should it be there from the start.
My question stems from looking over a few older pieces in my collection, specifically a black pearl handled balisong (shown below). There is a small amount of blade play when full open (handles together, but not locked); but considerably more when the handles aren't together, which I assume is somewhat normal...I'm just trying to get a feel for how "used" this one is.
