Jerry: do you have any plans for coming out with another kukri-style Busse at some point?

I bet you'd have LOTS of folks eager to pick one up... I know I'd leap at the chance...

not to mention all the chop-offs she would inspire...

Something like this?

Busse Killa Zilla

I hope Jerry makes the CG a wee bit smaller than the test team edition, a great blade design, but a bit too heavy to go at it for a while. In all my outdoors workings the Kukri design is a great chopper, but a bit smaller design with a bit rounder, thicker handles that flair out in the back seems to be the most comfortable. , Yep, also waiting for the CG

I wouldn't hold my breath, but I think a production CG version is coming. Might be the next big Busse blade.

+1

Make it...
- thinner
- lighter
- with a rounder handle
- with a tail more like a traditional Khukri so that the top of the tail presses against your palm and keeps the knife from rotating forward in your hand, even with a light grip.

LittleBill, you're new here. The standard answer, and old joke, is "two weeks" :D

A newbie and 9 posts later a pretty firm indication from The Boss that it's in the works!

Nice job Little Bill!

Here are the results from the chop off... I no longer have the zilla, I just traded it.

thanks for the link! my experience chopping with kukris backs up what you say: nothing quite like them...

as for your comment about your hand getting tired and sore, I recall reading somewhere that when the Gurkhas (sp?) chop with them, they hold them in a very loose grip... maybe to avoid what you experienced...?

Ironically, although it was more comfortable with a loose grip, and could almost get more of a snapping motion, Busse grips lend themselves to blisters in this design. I have a hollowed out area on my thumb near the webbing where the zilla handle tore out a huge blister, it's still healing and ugly.

Gloves would solve this problem, but when I do anything with my hands I prefer not wearing gloves as I like feeling what i'm doing.

With some slight improvements, the knife would be a VERY good design, and in all honesty, it is a good design, it just didn't fit in with what I needed in the end. I'm looking forward to a production model for sure.
