  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Question for the mods.

They have not mandated G&S, and have shown no sign of doing so. They do however have a big problem with the present theft. While most those asking for F&F are not thieves, they are also not helping with the problem
So just as the administration has done, I would encourage G&S, to be part of the solution-to be clear the last part of the sentence is my opinion, not anything the administration has said
There are things that could be done on both sides of the sale toeliminate or at least bring this problem to a crawl.

I pay my money to a forum to be able to sell. I don't care if they volunteer or not they are a representative for the forums and are actively trying to kill sellers ability to sell as they see fit. This heavily sways the minds of potential buyers.
Maybe try eBay if BF does not cater to your needs.

Oddly enough, the actual goal of BF is to give folks a place to discuss knives, not provide a place to buy and sell.
Yet 90% of our time as mods is spent fixing issues in the Exchanges, because people can't be bothered to read the rules.

From my vantage point, the Forum exchanges are like bulletin boards that you used to see in the Super Markets. An individual has an item he is wanting to sell. He publishes that information. Somebody else contacts him and they strike a deal. The deal is between two individuals. The forum derives no money from the transaction. It only functions as that old timey cork bulletin board where people thumb tack pieces of paper.

We do the best we can to keep things on a level playing field and minimimize foul play. But at the end of the day, the deal is between two individuals. Therefore, all buyers and sellers should enter such a deal with that in mind. We can make recommendations for lowering the risk, but they remain recommendations. Caveat Emptor, Let the Buyer (And Seller) Beware.
