Question for those of you who have a waterproof treated Bark River sheath.

I recently ordered a Bark River Aurora LT, and I selected the waterproof sheath treatment.

Here is my dillema: Every time I put the knife in the sheath, it comes out with this film of some kind of oily/greasy substance on it. This is not a big deal, except for the fact that I like to use it for food prep and I don't like having to wipe the knife blade every time I use it for that.

Has anyone else had this issue and if so, how did you get the gunk out of the sheath? I've tried wiping it out with paper towels, spraying compressed air down there, etc. and nothing seems to really work.

I'd sit the sheath out in the sun on a hot day, or somewhere near heat. The treatment should soak into the leather better. That's what I do when I treat leather boots, etc.
