  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

question from a 300 lb guy.

Just make new decisions before you are forced to by Mr. Death. He can be very persuasive.
The ultimate weight-loss program. 100% guaranteed success. Requires absolutely no effort.

Kinda hard on your social life, tho...

Backwoods, shoes do wear out, and you're going to wear them out much quicker than someone 100 pounds lighter, so new shoes may help in the short term. That said, your knees aren't so easy to replace, and you're killing them. You're also doing permanent damage to other parts of your body as well. It will be a lot easier to change your lifestyle on your own than it will be to have the doctors change it for you.

Hi All-

With regard to the "shock absorbtion" of shoes, that function typically gives up the ghost long before the upper is worn. It is common for long-distance runners to literally have closets full of shoes that are essentially "spent" but look OK visually. A person that weighs a few hundred pounds is going to compress the padding easily within a year. Once ideal shoes/boots are found, it would make sense to purchase a few pairs to allow for rotation.

My suggestion may seem out of left field, but I guarantee you that you will see results.

What you need is a good pair of working clogs, with wooden soles. Wooden soled clogs maintain the natural arch of the foot, while still providing cushioning with the rubber soles.

Your feet never feel tired, your back never gets sore, and you can be on
your feet for long periods of time. There is a reason that all professionals that spend all day on their feet wear clogs.

I recommend this brand. It's an industrial clog with a steel toe.

I just wanted to add that exercise is only 20% of it, 80% is the diet . I see people in the gym all the time that don't change their appearance at all yet they are at the gym all the time. You can't loose weight or gain muscle without a proper diet and you can't do either without exercise so don't think that exercise is something you can skip. Exercise
weight training and cardio are a catalyst diet is the fuel you can't get anywhere without one or the other.
