Question: Izula no good on cardboard?

I'm pretty much bugged in right now, with all that snow here ... and I already cut my share of xmas cardboard ...

My Izula did not cut cardboard very well at first, now it cuts great after reprofiling on my
Sharpmaker.

You cut cardboard
Cardboard will eat your Izula edge. Period.
Cutting cardboard on a regular basis should be avoid unless you REALLY enjoy resharpen your knives (any knives) a lot... Cardboard is REALLY abrasive !!!
Cutting cardboard is like dulling the edge with SAND PAPER !!!

Now you do what do you want with your tools.
But this is what my grandfather taught me 30 years ago and the old man, as an ebenist, woodworker, soldier and hunter, knew how to take care of his knives. :-)

Your grandfather knew a thing or two :) thanks for sharing this with us, this gave me a great insight.

So what exactly is the best way to strop with cardboard?
Anyone have any pointers?

You strope it like you do it on leather on a flat plan...
or
you strope the blade on "the edge" of the cardboard box.

It's easy. Cardboard are great on carbon steel (1095) just to refresh your edge.
