Whats everyones opinion of the heft of the thickest one. I'm not a fan of coated blades so I was thinking about the LE version, as a user. Is it much skinnier than .25?

The thickest one is a huge increase in weight over the .22" thickness, IMO. Completely different feel.
I say go for the thinnest and lightest possible while still maintaining blade strength. In this case, with a Busse, you're already way into the realm of thick and tough anyway. I went with a skinny. At .19" its damn tough and weilds a supremely sharp thin(ner) blade. CGs are built to be thrown at concrete, which you'd never do anyway, and LEs are fairly heavy. For me, it was an easy choice.
...but now that I'm getting a second, I picked a CG fatty!![]()
if you lay an LE and a Skinny on a table, the LE will lie flat on its handle with the blade point off the table. The Skinny will tip over and rest on its point.
Will,
Good description. I did not realize that this picture shows that. Notice the CG and LE are not tipped forward but the Skinny is?
Good observation--didn't realize that would be true with the front talon as the fulcrum as well. I was actually talking about laying the knives on their sides, but your picture is very illuminating.
Thanks,

About 5 minutes on a beltsander. Thanks BTW. The CG is DC.
