Question on ASH's

I practiced mainly on a machete, lawn mower blades, ranger knives, axes, kabars, and friends knives that really didn't care. If I went straight to the Busse blades they would be less than satisfactory I believe.

Thanks for the info everyone. After much thought, this is what i have coming: Custom Shop ASH, .22, DC, Black/Tan Hand formed G-10.

Should be sweet!

But, I think everybody needs a fatty as well. ;)

I agree with Foo. You'll really enjoy that knife, and the G10 should stay nice and clean no matter how much you use it/handle it.

On the fatties, I also seem compelled to keep at least one around--have not been able to let the last of mine go. In the back of my mind lurks the thought that there is no better intrusion/escape/rescue tool in that size package on the face of the earth than a .32" thick INFI blade. The size of the ASH1 is just big enough to take advantage of the uber-thickness, in terms of prying/pounding/digging/busting-through-to-wherever-you-need-to-be in a survival/rescue situation. I'll never carry one on my belt, but having one in a vehicle when it's not practical to carry something bigger makes good sense to me.
