Hi Everyone,
I was fortunate enough to pick up a NIB 25th Anniversary Delica this weekend. Found it at an old pawn shop that I occasionally visit. Clearly it has been on the shelves for a few years, dusty and the lube on the blade was all gummed up.
The knife is a really beauty, but the damascus has what appears to be a dark tarnish and discoloration on it. The bug pattern is barely visible. I recalled reading over on the Spyderco factory forum a while ago that someone else had this problem and fixed it with Brasso. I carefully tried a little with a microfiber cloth, and it cleaned up the discoloration, but the dark hazy tarnish is still present over the damascus.
Has anyone else encountered this before? Did I just get a dud 25th Anniversary Delica. Hope not!
I tried to post a similar question over on the Spyderco factory forum, but it is rejecting my account at the moment, and I can't locate the old thread either (just one of those days I guess).
