How do the Fort turner heads hold up to a serious beating? They are 1095 forge welded to 1020, right? Does the 1095 insert have chipping problems at cold temps? Does the 1020 deform when used for hammering chores (thinking specifically a model with the hardened poll)?

As for weights. He lists the weights, but is that just of the head, or the head and haft together?

I can't speak for all Fort Turner hawks but my Rogers Rangers hawk has survived some pretty hard use.We used it as a camp axe when we needed firewood in a hurry on a rainy trip.It held up extremly well.Dulling but no damage.
