Is there a site that gives the history and development of this knife? I'm curious, as I've just added one to the collection. Is this still Navy issue? Thanks for the help...

There are answers to your questions on the SOG website. SOG hosts an old "Fighting Knives" article that makes claims to the origin of the knife.
