Question on Tek-Lok that came with my Street Beat

Hey nomad4,

I've got a streetbeat thats my preferred FB edc...
unfortunately, when I pre-ordered it, there was a lot of talk about how good the stock sheath would be.
When it finally came, the knife was fantastic, but the sheath was absolutely brutal.
I had Eric (OnScene tactical) custom make me a few sheaths. Heres a few samples of his work:

g-clip: this is what I would suggest you use with your belt.
It'll be wider than your belt for sure but if you're gonna wear your sheath outside your pants
then you can clip it not over the belt but inside your pants. The tension will keep it very snug.

static cord/line: The one thats nice for different positions.
I loop the end around a belt loop and tuck the sheath into the waistband.
Eric put an inner tube around the top of the sheath.
The rubber provides a bit of grip for your pants when you're pulling the knife out.

Last is the belt loop: probably too wide for your belt but nice to have for secure carry.

Erics sheaths are fantastic. Theres no substitute for having custom kydex made for a fixed blade knife....

Hope this gives you a few ideas.

Eug2120,
Thanks so much for the great photos! You've really got some great ideas, and I like all of them! I never even thought of using cord to help secure my sheath.

I am thinking right now of getting a G-clip first to see how that works out. I'll probably couple that with the rubber. But I am actually thinking of getting some professional work done eventually. After all, I really love the Streetbeat, but what's the point if I can't deploy it quickly and reliably enough?

Thanks again for the great post! Where can I get the same work done that you recommend? I searched for Onscene Tactical but came up with nothing.

Just email Eric with your questions and he will help you out.

You'll have to send your SB to him for fitting but the few
weeks you're without it, will be worth the ability to have a
sheath thats secure and has the right amount of release on
the draw.
