Question re: recently purchased Mouse

Yesterday I received a Mouse that I had purchased on eBay. Upon opening the box I noticed several things that bothered me and now have me wondering if this is in fact a legitimate Mouse. For starters it didn't arrive in a Spyderco box. This is the first of eleven Spydies that I have bought that didn't come in an "official box" from Spyderco. So that has me concerned. Secondly, the blade (which is VG-10 as it should be) has Japan on it but no Seki City marking. I realize that the area on which Japan appears is small and it could be that there was simply not enough room for the Seki City part. But again this has me concerned. The third (and last thing, sorry it's such a long question) is that the word Spyderco appears as I have typed it out instead of "SPYDERCO", which is how all my other Spydies are marked. The good news is that the Spydie logo is on the clip and it is exactly as it should be. So do I have a real Spydie Mouse? I have emailed the seller with the same questions but I wanted to hear from y'all so I know for sure if the Mouse is a Mouse and not a Rat.

You got the real deal.

Spyderco made these as a custom collaboration with Tim Wegener from Blade Tech. I ordered mine from Blade Tech directly and it came looking exactly as you described. The print ads of the Mouse in Blade magazine and Tactical Knives also look like the Mouse that you received.

Enjoy using it. It's a real worker.

Thanks, crucible that makes me feel better. I still wish it had a Spydie box but I guess that this knife was also purchased through Blade Tech thereby causing it to have the plain white box. Again, thanks for the confirmation.

yep, I grabbed one of those dutch auction mouse's, same deal here, only I had heard about this box deal a while back somewhere on this forum. Plus, comparing it side by side with my navigator, it was pretty apparent that the steel looked, felt, cut exactly the same and the overall build was better. That was one of my little gripes too on my short review of it.
That dude was GIVING them away!! what did ya get it for?

It doesn't have a Spyderco box, because it's a Blade-tech Tim Wegner product, manufactured for them by Spyderco. The knife was never part of Spyderco's catalog or on their web-site. That's why it comes in a white box, with no written warranty. Good thing it's perfect and will never need repair.
