Howdy! This is my first post to the group and wouldn't you know, it's a question of sorts. I just purchased one Siegle's Bowie knives by way of an eBay auction #320924683684. I had to have this knife the second I ran into it while looking for other Bowie pattern knives. More than anything, I would like to find out when it was made and keep that info with the knife. Also would like to find out how many of these were made if that is possible. It is simply a beautiful knife and it will be hard to collect other Bowies after this one as I really believe that this is the best I am going to get! How might one contact Mr. Siegle? I see you have a manufacturer's section but his name is not listed. Thanks for your assistance!

Sharpsman congratulations on the Siegle Bowie.Dr William Martin on here has tested more Siegle knives than anyone else.I bought my first one almost 2 years ago and within 9 months I owned 4 Siegle knives. They are true hard use knives!

Hey, bigcountry1315!
I've been hunting Bowie knives for some time but never made much effort to own one made by a real craftsman. That may change. There are some very pretty Bowies around made out of Damascus but they use a standard blank and are more decorative than anything else. The metal in Siegle's Bowie has to be harder than 'heck', you can just feel that! I did a little reading on his site and you are right, those knives are made to use!
I want to thank both of you guys for answering my note! I will do my best to ask good questions as the area I find myself in right now is not my greatest strength. The next Siegle is going to have to be another Bowie!

Sharpsman,

Congrats on the knife. Bill makes some excellent knives. I almost went after that one myself. :D However, I have an assortment of Bill's knives already including a few that are very similar to yours.

This is an old dead website of mine, but if you tab down this page you will see many of Mr. Siegle's knives

Have fun with the new knife.

Hey, Not 2sharp!
Someone came into the auction at the very last mement and began to eat up my max bid in $10 increments! At the last moment, I threw in another $25 and that seemed to hold the action at my first max bid of $265. Man, that was exciting but I had to have that knife! There's something about a Bowie!

Thank you! Wonderful presentation! Still have not seen one like the knife I was able to get the other day.

At least 10 years with the saw blade around his name I almost bid that one up But other financial obligations arose. Great catch!
