Photos Question regarding axe markings

Hello, all. I have a True Temper / Vulcan / Kelly Works that has a couple of additional markings I’m curious about.

One of the cheeks is stamped 3 2, which I understand is the weight, as in 3 lbs + 2 quarters. I have only the double-bit head and it weighs 3 lbs 4 oz. Safe to assume the 3 2 was approximate only?

Also, it is stamped with an “8” at the shoulder. Any idea what it meant?

When it comes to this axe, most likely 4 oz is gone due to use and sharpening.

as for the 8, kelly was known to put some letters and numbers on who's meaning have been lost, like A17

I have a recent find, a boys axe marked B11.
I was to understand they were die marks.
