Hello all,

I have been thinking..I’m “dabbling” in knifemaking/leatherwork, as well as a bunch of other crafts.
I’m not sure that I am going to be comfortable moving forward “sullying” up other threads like “EDC”, “Traditional Carry” and the like, with projects I am working one.

So my question is...should I start a dedicated thread in GKD to post what I am up to? And allow comments and discussion? Or would this be too much? I know this would just be another thread to watch. So I’m looking to know how everyone feels about this idea.
Also looking for the rules on this...if a mod would like to comment, that would be appreciated.

Thank you all for your vote.

The short answer is Yes, absolutely put it out there. If you want to share your work, get feedback or just want to document your creativity for posterity then a dedicated thread is a good idea. What area of the forum to put it in would be the biggest question.
Most definitely I would like to be able to have interactions and public conversations with other members regarding projects.
Where's the poll?
I’m trying to get it to show. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. 🤪

Also, this is not my full time job (knifemaking, leatherworking). I upgraded my membership incase of potential sales, so as not to break the rules. If it ends up that I start doing this in more of a fulltime capacity, then I will be happy to open an account in the “knifemakers arena.” At this point tho, I just was thinking of a way to not post potentially unwanted posts in other threads. If that makes sense.

Go for it .

I don't see anything wrong with starting a new thread to share your knife projects here in General. Others do it. And I have encouraged others to do it. If you're looking for feedback on your work the best place to get it is here in General, because more eyes will see it.

Who's going to complain about a thread featuring custom made knives here in GKD?

Thank you. Just figuring out if I will be following forum rules. I like the idea, and if it doesn’t work or has no interest then it will fall dead to the bottom of the pile is how I see it. As long as I am staying within BF guidelines, then I want to go for it.

Thank you for your post. 😁

I plan on banning your butt as soon as you violate the first term of service. 👮‍♂️

🥳

One of us, I'm sure, will let you know if we begin receiving complaints or you've overstepped, or the thread will be a better fit elsewhere. Have fun...just don't turn it into an ad engine and we'll probably be fine.
Awesome! If I’m gonna get banned...I’d rather it be you that does it! 🤣😂

I don’t plan on advertising, or discussing sales, or posting prices or what-have-you. Is this the correct form for pace in a GKD thread? :)

Just go with it...if the ship goes off course, we'll be there to help get it righted or directed into the proper channel. You've done your part in making notification. Don't sweat it.

Oh, and thanks for the good words. It's so rare that the executioner gets praise in advance of doing his duties.

In that I don't like you, I will follow your thread religiously so I can put you and your work down at every turn. Its the least I can do. Lol! and j/k.

Seriously, put it out there. Trolls and haters be damned!!!!
