Question regarding the Ang Khola

It served the water buffalo pretty well in his time before it became scabbard covering.

.
Of course I'm sure the buffalo is quite happy all things considered, of course the buffalo never had to worry about rust or cracking due to hot and cold weather :D
But maybe he did I won't pretend to know the nuances of water buffalo hide.

It is an HI khukuri and it comes with the standard warranty.

Ah.. my mistake. I did not see it when I went to the page. Its durability is really quite amazing and makes me lean towards it especially after seeing that video.

You might want to consider a KLVUK, which is not listed at the HI online store but appears now and then on this forum as a DOTD. The KLVUK is a good all-around khukuri, comes in reasonable sizes and tends to be much less expensive than other comparably-sized models. The tradeoff is that you don't get a polished or satin blade, but that has no effect on functionality, and in fact has its own kind of rough beauty.

I suggest that you enter KLVUK in the above search box and check out this model. If you like it, you could wait for a DOTD or send an email to Yangdu, who might have one available. Here is one link that can give you an idea what the KLVUK is like:

I just can't ignore the utility of this knife and as a bonus the lack of polish means I won't have to feel guilty about it when I do use it to chop wood or thick brush. I think this is what I'm going to go with hopefully a 16" size is out there. I'm sorry to be a total noob but when you say contact Yangdu that is the person at this e-mail, correct: Yangdu.Martino@Himalayan-Imports.com ?
