Question regarding warnings

Like 5.56, I got a minor slap for BTTT a F/S thread before the 48-hr time limit. It haunted me... :grumpy:

Finally I realized I could minimize the window in my CP. Gone, unless I am looking for it.

Tainted love....

Do they mean anything? I have about 5 infractions, must be a winner. :D
1 from insulting, by calling a guy ignorant, and 4 by posting political responses to a political topic wrongly posted in general knife.
But in the scheme of things, does it affect anything besides my rep to the mods?
I don't personally care.
(No offense to any mods, I deserved the infractions, I just said my opinion and it was the wrong place to say them.)

Basically it's just a report card for the mods, and it never goes away.

If you receive more than 50pts. you get auto-banned though.

Just do your homework and you'll be fine.;)

Yes. Infractions carry points (posting in wrong forum=1, insults=5, trolling=10, racism=30, etc). Some infractions expire in as little as a month (maybe less, not sure), others never. If you collect 50 points (not counting expired infractions) you are automatically banned from BFC.

I'm at 4 points. But my points expire at 10 day intervals, why not all at once? They expire at 6/10, 6/20, 6/30, and 7/10. Is it normal to expire like that?

Out of morbid curiosity, do folks who get auto-banned for reaching 50 points get listed on the plank log? There was one fella who went over 50 in the Maintenance Forum this last month and I don't think I saw his name on the plank log.

(I did say "morbid curiosity". I like looking at the log, but am not sure exactly why.)

I saw that. I think it's because you got them so close together. The software gives you extra time in the penalty box so to speak. I may be wrong, but that's my guess.

Only if a supermod noticed or was informed they got autobanned.

I'm glad I'm not the only weird bugger here that likes looking at the plank log. :)

Speaking of morbid curiosity, how does one forumite find out how many points some other forumite is sitting on?

The guy he's referring to got them all in a single evening I believe. He just added up the red tags.

The only way now would be to look through their posts (all of their posts) add up infractions and subtract the ones that have expired. I may have tones of time on my hands but that’s tedious even for me.

I think for a time after one of the software changes the infraction points were visible though.
